Great Association Community Platform
We moved from Socious to HigherLogic last May and while it was a difficult implementation process, ultimately the launch was clean and successful.
We have almost 100 communities consisting of working groups, committees, task forces and other discussion forums. Each of our community types have different needs as far as allowing members to join or be appointed, so it was a bit challenging to get things off the ground. Our implementation coordinator changed several times at the beginning of the project which created some challenges for keeping things on track.
While it seems as if we don't currently have a customer service person assigned to AMIA, my experience with customer service has been great. They've been very responsive and always able to troubleshoot our issues quickly.
Their ability to integrate with our database, Abila Enterprise, made for a really smooth integration.
I would say the site's automation rules make it one of the best platforms out there. The ability to automate so many processes saves staff a ton of time and really helps with member engagment. I also think that the reporting and analytics do a great job of allowing you to provide snapshots to steakholders to show how your members are using the platform, although I'd like to see some of that reporting be a little more flexible. Hopefully in the future, you'll be able to create some customized reports on the fly rather than have to have their support team do it for you.
Their mentormatch program is also a great additional resource that really helps with engaging students and young professionals.
My only pet peeve with HigherLogic is that some of the best new functionality and innovations to the platform come with a hefty pricetag. We're not able to take advantage of some of the new additions like Workspace, because of our budget limitations.
They are a great company to work with and are constantly looking for ways to improve the product. I'd recommend them to anybody looking for a great community platform.
