Trellis is a community that was developed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) as a community for scientists and those who support science. While its goal is admirable, and its current price tag appreciated (free), unfortunately there are serious issues that exist with general usability and functionality. As a result, getting members to use the platform is incredibly difficult as the user experience is currently very painful and unintuitive. Barring a complete UI overhaul, I don't see this changing any time soon. That said, we are optimistic that AAAS is soliciting user feedback to improve the service and offering to their members and the broader community.
