We are users of IMIS and have been using IMIS Advanced Communities for 2+ years. IMIS purchased GoLightly's for their advanced version of a community platform and it's just not keeping up. The Basic Communities is too basic and Advanced Communities is very dated technology.  We considered Higher Logic but the costs were out of our range at the time, so this seemed like a nice alternative for about 1/3 the cost. 

The problem as we understand it is that it is a purchased platform that ASI (developers of IMIS) is not updating, therefore it is rapidly falling behind its competitors.  The technology is at least  4-5 years old and it doesn't appear that it will get any better. Our members struggle with using it so they are creating their own communities through LinkedIn or other social media. platforms. Unless ASI makes a commitment to upgrading, we would not recommend this platform for any association.
